Fly from London Heathrow to Kota Kinabalu. 

Arrive at Kota Kinabalu Airport where you will be transferred to your resort. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure with an overnight stay at Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort, Kota Kinabalu. 

After breakfast at the resort, embark on a guided tour of Mount Kinabalu, towering above one of the world’s most biodiverse regions. Explore Kinabalu Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its unique flora and montane oak-chestnut forests, transitioning to dipterocarp forests at Poring. Trek through the rainforest and experience the treetops on the Canopy Walkway. Should the walkway be closed, an alternative visit to Poring Garden will be arranged. Return to the resort for an evening at leisure and an overnight at Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort, Kota Kinabalu.

Enjoy breakfast before checking out and transferring to the airport for your flight to Sandakan. On arrival, visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where you’ll watch a documentary and observe orangutans at the feeding platform. Continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the world’s smallest bear species. Later, drive to Bilit Rainforest Lodge on the Kinabatangan River, taking a boat transfer upon arrival. After tea, enjoy a river cruise to spot wildlife such as proboscis monkeys and rare birds. Return to the lodge for dinner with an overnight at Bilit Rainforest Lodge.

Start the day with an early morning cruise to Sukau Ox-Bow Lake for birdwatching. Return to the lodge for breakfast before visiting Bilit Village to learn about the traditions of the Orang Sungei community. After lunch at the lodge, spend the afternoon at leisure. Later, enjoy tea and snacks before another cruise along the Kinabatangan River with chances to spot proboscis monkeys, orangutans, gibbons and pygmy elephants. After dinner, join a night cruise to search for nocturnal wildlife, and enjoy an overnight at Bilit Rainforest Lodge.

After breakfast, check out of Bilit Rainforest Lodge and take a short boat transfer followed by a drive to Gomantong Cave, Sabah’s largest limestone cave. Continue to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary to observe these unique primates and their feeding. You may also spot silver-leaf monkeys and hornbills. Transfer to Sabah Hotel Sandakan and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Your overnight stay will be at Sabah Hotel Sandakan/Sepilok Nature Lodge.
